Hyne T3 Green gives protection outside the box

Outdoor structural framing that shields against termite and fungal attack

Hyne is pleased to announce the release of T3 Green, its new range of treated structural softwood framing for outdoor above ground protection that features one grade and one treatment for simple specification.

Developed for Australia’s outdoor lifestyle, T3 Green is perfect for use in external, above ground structural applications like pergolas, carports, verandahs and decks.

Green by name and green by nature, it contains a new non-toxic treatment to outdoor H3 levels and is mechanically graded (MGP10), for enhanced structural integrity.

Hyne is the first in the industry to adopt the MGP10 classification for outdoor structural softwood – although it’s commonly used across other structural applications like wall frames and roof trusses.

"We believe the machine-grading of Australian and imported softwood is a more reliable test for stiffness and bending strength than the original visual F-grading," says David Marlay, Hyne’s General Manager Marketing.

"Originally F grades were introduced into Australian standards for hardwood not softwood. Accordingly, the relativity between stiffness and bending strength is not the same and therefore MGP grades, which relate specifically to softwood, are far more appropriate."

T3 Green will out-span F5- and F7- graded softwood in most structural applications and builders and specifiers can use the same span tables and design software as they currently use for all other MGP structural softwood.

T3 Green has the appearance and structural integrity to do the job, with a 25-year warranty against fungal and termite attack.
